A Kitchen Carved to Last Generations: Bespoke Solid Myanmar Teak

The kitchen is the one room a home truly lives in. It takes heat, steam, splashes and daily use that few other spaces endure. So when we build a kitchen, we build it from the most forgiving hardwood we know: solid Myanmar teak, milled and hand-finished in our own workshop in Kengtawng, Shan State.

Why solid teak belongs in a kitchen
Teak earned its reputation on the decks of ships, where it stood up to saltwater and sun for decades. That same natural resilience is exactly what a kitchen asks for. The wood's own oils make it resistant to water, steam and the swelling that ruins lesser cabinets. It shrugs off termites and rot, and it ages into a deeper, warmer gold rather than wearing out.
Because we work in solid timber rather than veneer over board, a teak kitchen can be sanded, re-oiled and renewed many times over its life. A scratch is not a tragedy; it is simply the next chapter in a surface meant to last for generations.
Built around your room, not a catalogue
Every kitchen we make is drawn to the exact dimensions of your space. We plan the cabinet runs, the heights, the drawer depths and the ventilation around your appliances and the way you actually cook.

Cabinetry with honest joinery
Look closely at the cabinet fronts and you will see continuous grain flowing from door to door, because the panels are cut and matched by hand. Drawers run on solid joints, doors are hung to close softly, and the golden figure of the teak is left to speak for itself under a hand-rubbed oil finish.

Islands and worktops that anchor the room
A teak island becomes the heart of the kitchen, a place to prep, gather and lean. We build the carcass and frame to carry stone or a solid teak top, with storage worked into every side so the piece earns its footprint.
Solid teak is not the cheapest way to build a kitchen. It is the way to build one only once.
Made by hand, in our own factory
Owning our factory means we control the wood from log to finished surface. We choose the boards, dry them properly, and the same craftsmen who cut the joints also fit the kitchen. Nothing is rushed, and nothing is outsourced to be quietly downgraded.
