From a Log to a Home: How a Full-House Teak Commission Is Delivered

With a full-house commission, our clients' greatest worry is never the price — it is "once I pay, I can't see what is happening". So here is the complete journey of a home, from measurement to installation. Every door and every staircase we make passes through these seven steps, and every step is visible to you.

Step 1: Free measurement and design

Send us your floor plan or photos of the space, or book an on-site measurement. We prepare an initial design and quotation — entirely free, with nothing to pay if it is not right for you.

Step 2: Confirm, sign, reserve the timber

Once the design is settled, we sign a contract and take a deposit, then immediately reserve timber for your order. The contract states the material (solid Burmese teak), dimensions, schedule and payment milestones — all in writing.

Step 3: Timber selection, confirmed by photo

Before work begins, our craftsmen select boards for your home: flowing grain, even colour, no dead knots or cracks. We photograph the selected timber and send it to you for approval before the first cut. You will know exactly which boards became your doors.

Step 4: Milling and drying

After milling, the timber goes into the kiln to bring the moisture content under control, then rests to stabilise. This step cannot be rushed — with the wrong moisture content, even the finest joinery will warp later. We would rather take a few extra days.

Step 5: Crafting and carving

Mortise-and-tenon joinery, hand sanding, carving where the design calls for it. Throughout, we send you photos and videos of the work in progress — even far away, it is as if you were standing in the workshop.

Step 6: Trial assembly at the factory

Large pieces — entrance doors, staircases, full-wall cabinetry — are fully assembled once at the factory to confirm a perfect fit, then dismantled for shipping. No "it doesn't fit" surprises at your home.

Step 7: Installation and aftercare

Our own installation team fits everything and cleans up before leaving. And afterwards — a loose hinge, a re-waxing years later — one call, and we are still here.

Seven steps later, what you receive is not a batch of furniture, but woodwork you will not need to worry about for decades.
