Grand Teak Entrance Doors: A Solid Burmese Teak Welcome That Lasts Generations

The front door is the first handshake your home offers a guest, and the last thing you touch on your way out. For the homes and villas we build for, that first impression deserves more than a hollow factory panel. It deserves a door carved from solid Myanmar teak: warm, weighty, and built to outlive the people who first walk through it.

Why Solid Myanmar Teak for an Entrance Door
An entrance door faces sun, rain, humidity and the slam of daily life more than almost any other piece in a house. This is exactly where Myanmar teak earns its reputation. Its natural oils resist water and repel termites without chemical treatment, so the timber stays stable instead of warping or splitting through the seasons. The golden grain deepens with age rather than wearing out, which is why a well-made teak door is something you pass down, not throw away.
Everything we make begins at our own factory in Kengtawng, Shan State. We select each board for grain and color, then cut, joint and hand-finish the door under one roof. Nothing is veneer over particleboard; what you see is what the whole door is made of, edge to edge.

1. Carved Panels and Honest Joinery
The character of a grand door lives in its panels. Our craftsmen raise and carve solid teak panels by hand, framing them with deep, properly pegged mortise-and-tenon joints that hold for decades without relying on glue alone. The result is a door with real depth and shadow, one that feels substantial the moment you push it open.

2. Scaled for Grand Entrances
Villa and estate entrances call for height and presence. We build tall single leaves and wide double doors, with optional fixed sidelights and transoms in matching teak, so the whole opening reads as one commanding piece rather than a door squeezed into a wall.

3. A Finish That Shows the Wood
We finish each door to let the teak speak. A hand-rubbed oil or clear protective coat brings out the depth of the grain while shielding the surface from sun and weather. Over the years the color matures into a richer honey-brown, and a light re-oiling brings it back to life, no stripping or refinishing required.

A good entrance door should make you pause for a second before you even reach for the handle. That pause is the craft.
